In a very good game, Ronaldinho and Eidur Gudjohnsen both scored as FC Barcelona recorded a convincing 3-0 win over UNAM Tigres in Mexico for their second victory in the pre-season campaign.
We must keep in mind that a number of first team players have only trained for a few days, but the majority were given a run out as Barelona proved that they are as strong as ever. Coach Frank Rijkaard did use a number of youngsters as he fielded 22 players in the win. The Blaugrana's Mexican duo Rafael Márquez and Giovanni dos Santos were named in the starting line-up and were warmly applauded by the home supporters in a packed Estadio Universitario in Monterrey.
The Catalan team scored 6 minutes into the match following a free kick by Mexican Rafael Marquez, who plays for the Spanish team. Defender Marquez hit a soft ball past the Tigres' barrier into center of the crease where Balderas tried to clear the ball but kicked it into his own net.
And in a very good move, the second goal was scored with a free kick by Ronaldinho. At the 70th minute, the Brazilian sent the free kick over the Tigres' barrier and beyond the reach of the goalie into the net.
Ronaldinho Gaucho also assisted in Barcelona's 3rd goal at the minute 77. Indeed, he slipped a pass to Eidur Gujohnsen who put it past the Mexican goalie.
"This victory is positive because we won and managed to get almost all our players in the game," Frank Rijkaard expressed in the end of the game. "The Tigres had bad luck with their definition, but for us it was an interesting match and we had to work a bit."

New York Red Bulls 1 - 4 Barca
La Pulga entró en el segundo tiempo y fue una de las figuras en la victoria por 4-1 ante los New York Red Bulls. Por su parte, el Conejo volvió a meterla y sigue haciendo méritos para continuar en el club. Los otros dos fueron de Ronaldinho.El primer tiempo no fue nada fácil y los estadounidenses lograron llevarse un empate parcial 1-1. Ronaldinho anotó de penal para el Barsa, y Djorkaeff consiguió la igualdad a los 37 minutos. Los argentinos Messi y Saviola esperaban ansiosos en el banco su chance de entrar.
En el complemento, Rijkaard volvió a mover el banco como en el partido ante América de México. Hizo nueve cambios y fue el debut de Zambrotta y Thuram. La Pulga y Gudjohnsen reemplazaron a Giuly y Eto'o, respectivamente. Messi se juntó con Ronaldinho y estuvieron imparables. El argentino hizo una muy buena jugada y habilitó al brasileño, para meter el segundo gol de su cuenta personal a los cuatro minutos. Los españoles no aflojaron la marcha y la figura del partido era el arquero Tony Meola.
El tercero no tardó en llegar. Gudjohnsen se la pasó a Messi y él no falló. Primer gol del argentino en los partidos de pretemporada. También tuvo la posibilidad de entrar Saviola, y el Conejo sigue haciendo todo para que el club lo retenga. Ingresó por Ronaldinho cuando faltaban quince para el final, y mojó de nuevo tras un error de la defensa de los New York Red Bulls.
Un partido perfecto para el Barcelona y para los dos argentinos. Messi mostró una vez más toda su jerarquía y Saviola anotó otro gol. Un 4-1 que da para ilusionarse con la defensa del título.

Skilful, agile, extrovert, fast, inspired, magical. That's Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, known by the nickname of 'Ronaldinho Gaucho'. Ronaldinho Personal life
Ronaldinho was born in Vila Nova, a poor suburb of Porto Alegre, Brazil. He was the youngest of three children. Ronaldinho's mother Miguelina is a former salesperson who later studied to become a nurse. His father João was a shipyard worker and footballer for Cruzeiro. The family moved to a more affluent district of Porto Alegre when Ronaldinho's older brother Roberto signed to play professional football for Grêmio. João died when Ronaldinho was 8, after suffering a heart attack while swimming in the family's pool. Injuries ended Roberto's career prematurely, and he now manages Ronaldinho. Ronaldinho's sister Deisi works as his press coordinator.[3][4] Ronaldinho's son, named João after his father, was born on 25 February, 2005. João's mother is Janaína Nattielle Viana Mendes, a former dancer on the Brazilian television show Domingão do Faustão.[5]

Brazil Uses Comics and Ronaldinho to Fight Drugs
At yesterday's, June 21, opening ceremony of the 8th National Anti-Drug Week, in the Planalto Palace, in Brazilian capital Brasília, president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva commented that the government should not be a guardian but, rather, a facilitator of actions to combat drug use.
He underscored that society and government should unite in the campaign to prevent drug use.
One of the government's new drug prevention programs in schools is "Say Yes to Life," which consists in the distribution of primers with stories and games based on the popular comic book characters from Mônica's Gang and a new character, the soccer hero, Ronaldinho Gaúcho.
The primers, which contain messages about the harm caused by drugs, will be distributed in public schools around the country.
The Ministry of Education, the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (SENAD), and the University of Brasília (UnB) plan to train approximately 20,000 public school teachers by the end of the year to deal with the drug issue in the classroom.

It was a little use that the Frankfurt ground should fill its terraces with green and yellow. Despite a multitude of fans dressed in t'e shirt of the "canarinha", Parrerias's men were unable to face up to the French football. Under the control of Zinedine Zidane and with a goal by the infallible Henry in the 57th minute, the Europeans went to the semi-finals 1-0.

Ronaldinho Biography
Ronaldinho was born into a family of football addicts, living in a wooden house in the heart of a favela. His father, Joao da Silva Moreira who played for an amateur club made ends meet by by working as a car park attendant at Gremio Football Club. His brother Roberto was a great hope for the club but then his career was unfortunately ended by a terrible knee injury.
At the age of 8, tregedy struck as Ronaldinho's father drowned in a swiming pool at a villa provided by Gremio for Roberto. Following in the footsteps of his brother Ronnie then joined the Gremio's footballing school and wowed everyone there. He made it into the first team in 1997 and was being heralded as one of the best young hopes in Brazilan football. Meanwhile, he was already making the breakthrough with the national squad, and his six goals were fundamental in Brazil's Copa America triumph in 1999.
In 2001, Ronaldinho moved on to PSG where he became a fan's favourite with his tremendous flair and excting style of football - also contributing tremendous amounts of goals. However his employer's still weren't happy with his atitude and looked ot get rid of him. Of course, he continued to shine in the international arena. His finest hour came at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and Korea, where he was a key member of the side that won Brazil's record fifth world title - scoring in the quarter final and playing an integral role in midfield in the final.
Ronaldinho then moved to Barcelona - arguably the biggest club in the world - for what now seems a bargain at £21,000,000. When he arrived, he said that his desire was to bring as much success to the club as so many Brazilians had done before him, such as Evaristo, Ronaldo, Romario and Rivaldo. Having won the World Footballer of the Year title it seems he has now fulfilled that desire.
